Yet again we awake to another 'day after'. Boston now joins a list of cities and towns that will forever be associated with an unspeakable act of terror. I was going to use the word 'tragedy', but to me that would include random acts of nature that we (for the most part) cannot control. So I'll choose 'terror' even though the President hasn't declared it as such...yet. If we find out that this atrocity was carried out by an American, do we lable he/she a 'terrorist'? Or is that only for foreigners? My point is that it's irrelavant where this individual lives or was born, it's an act of terror. An act against a race, the human race carried out by one of it's own kind. And that this act of terror is initiated by a single thought.
How many years will try to 'fight the war on terror'? There is no war! Terror is a mindset, it's a thought process. And as long as we cannot control the way people think (and Lord knows we do try) we cannot stop, control or contain this OR ANY mindset. We feel that we can magically seek out groups and individuals who have this way of thinking and stop them. WE CAN'T. These heinous acts that take place now more frequently in our lives are the net result of our collective consciousness as a society. We are in the midst of a downward spiral that is crushing humanity at its very core. Our very soul that says we're a species that 'cares' and has an inherent love for one another.
"How do we stop it?"
There is only one way. We need to CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK. In the same manner that our collective consciousness has spun out of control and is based on 'fear' and 'hate', it can reverse itself. This only happens one person at a time. It starts with you and it starts with me. We need to change our thoughts to those of PEACE and LOVE. Go ahead, I hear some of you laughing already and that's OK. Just ask yourself 'Is anything else working?' and you'll come up with a resounding "NO"! Haven't you noticed already in your own life that 'what you think about expands'? Let's make this simple. Think of your immediate life and world. Are you happy or sad? Now be honest with yourself and think about the majority of thoughts that make up your day. If you're happy, I guarantee that the majority of your thoughts are 'happy thoughts'. And if you're sad for whatever reasons, I most certainly guarantee that your days and nights are filled with 'sad thoughts'. We create our own reality by how and what we think. When our thoughts and lives come from a place of peace and love, that's what we put into the world. It not only makes our immediate lives better and more pleasant but it spreads. It spreads to our families and friends and from families and friends it spreads to our communities. And from our communities to our counties and states...and so on, and so on.
"YOU CAN HELP TO CHANGE THE WORLD!"
Michael Jackson said it so poetically; "I'm starting with the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways" I challenge you again to ask yourself 'What have I got to lose?'. What kind of world do you want for the children? If we stay on this current path, what do you envision 20 years from now? Oh my God! I can't imagine the state of this planet in 20 years if things don't change. It's bad enough with our current rash of natural disasters that only looks like it's getting worse! We may not be able to control the frequency in which they occur, but are you going to rationally tell me that we can't control if we kill each other or not? Come on now folks! We're making conscious decisions as a race to plant bombs, pull triggers, send missiles and start wars! ISN'T IT ENOUGH ALREADY?
There is no stopping a thought process. 'Terror' is a thought process...SO IS PEACE. So I'll ask again...
"Can We GIVE PEACE A CHANCE?"
